Yom Kippur Yizkor Memorial Service Book
The Yizkor service on Yom Kippur morning is an important element of the High Holiday experience. The word yizkor means “remember,” and this service is an opportunity to honor the memory of those close to us who have passed away.
In keeping with our Yom Kippur tradition, we are compiling and sharing our Yom Kippur Yizkor Memorial Service Book, a sacred book filled with the names of those so very dear to us in life, and who, with the precious gift of memory, will remain with us forever.
In the traditional liturgy that we read together during the Yizkor service, we do not simply remember those we have lost. We also pledge tzedakah on their behalf, requesting that the credit for our good works be counted towards their merits. This pledge presents a special opportunity to support the synagogue in their names.
If you wish to include your loved ones, please note their names will only be included if you fill out the form. Please submit your names by Friday, September 6.
You are welcome to look through the 5784 Book of Remembrance as a point of reference.
