Sharon Israel was born in Ramat Gan, Israel. At age 3 she moved with her family to St Thomas, USVI, later to The Bahamas and from there to Miami.. In Miami Sharon was actively involved in her youth group and spent many summers in Israel. During her high school years she participated in the Young Judea Youth Program Chetz va Keshet and The March of the Living.
Sharon studied Liberal Studies at the University of Central Florida. At UCF Sharon was instrumental in the developing of an active Hillel program on campus. In 2002 she was chosen to represent UCF’s Hillel at an Advocacy Mission to Israel. Upon her return, Sharon became involved with Seeds of Peace and founded Knights for Israel, a political and socio-cultural organization on campus.
In 2006 Sharon returned to Miami and began working for Temple Judea in both the religious school and the Margaux Early Childhood Preschool. During that time she also served as the youth group advisor.
As the new Youth Coordinator, Sharon brings to Temple Judea her deep love for Israel and Judaism and hopes to provide an educational and fun environment for Temple Judea’s youth and families.
Sharon loves to travel, is a fan of the Miami Heat and can go for falafel and hummus any day.
